Tell the Next President: CONTEST RULES
Introduction
Tell the Next President is part of the Alliance for Public Technology's (APT) nationwide Broadband Changed My Life!TM campaign to raise awareness of the benefits of high speed broadband in today's world and encourage its universal deployment and adoption in the United States. Be creative and tell us how broadband--both wireless and wireline--has changed your life or how it can change the lives of others.
Who Can Enter
To be eligible to participate in this contest, entrants must be residents of the U.S. who are 18 years of age or older.
Entry Requirements
- Complete the entry form at www.BroadbandChangedMyLife.org.
- Contestants must agree to APT's use of the entry in materials supporting this contest, including media releases and other public documents and events. With entry into this contest, you are giving permission for your entry to be posted on our website, publicized to the media if it is selected and otherwise used to demonstrate the kinds of ideas and policies the next President of the United States should consider.
- Entries may be featured as a broadband success story on the website, www.BroadbandChangedMyLife.org.
- All entries become the property of APT.
Timing
The contest starts on August 1, 2008 and ends on October 1, 2008. Winners will be announced in October. APT is not responsible for lost, late, or misdirected submissions or for printing errors.
Judging
A committee of the APT Board of Directors will select the top three (3) winners from among valid entries.
Prizes
Three (3) winners will be selected. The winner will receive prizes as follows:
- First place: $1,000
- Second place: $500
- Third place: $250
The winners will have thirty (30) days from notification to arrange payment. If a winner cannot be notified within 7 days, the prize will be awarded to an alternate winner.
General Conditions
This contest is subject to all applicable laws and regulations and is void where prohibited.
In claiming your prize, you acknowledge that APT has the right to publicize your name, character, likeness, photograph, voice and the fact that you are the winner for promotional purposes without financial remuneration.

APT cannot be held liable for any lost or stolen entries, prizes or contest information.
APT reserves the right to make rules and contest changes and change the aforementioned contest dates.
